What is Whole Person Care?

Whole person care is a holistic, person-driven, relationship-based approach that considers multiple factors that influence health and healing— environmental, social, spiritual, physical, and mental health. Each person’s health journey begins by asking “what matters?” instead of “what is the matter?” as a way to center the health care discussion on personal values and goals. Clinicians combine conventional and evidence-based complementary and integrative health treatment recommendations. Whole person care aims to achieve equitable health outcomes by attending to individual and community level social drivers of health as part of health journey.
