Elena Rosenbaum, MD

Elena is board-certified in Family Medicine (ABFM) and Integrative Medicine (ABOIM). Elena draws from her varied background as an inpatient and outpatient clinician, educator, and community health to inform policy, strategy and implementation.

Elena graduated from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2004 where she first learned Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction from a physician. That experience was extremely formative and eventually led Elena to pursue further training in complementary and integrative health. Elena completed her Family Medicine Residency in Greater Lawrence Family Health Center in Lawrence, MA in 2007 where she also completed her H.I.P. (Holistic, Integrative, Pluralistic) fellowship in 2008. During her fellowship Elena learned Acupuncture at the Harvard Structural Acupuncture course for Physicians and was fortunate to shadow Kiiko Matsumoto, Lic. Ac. in her Newton, MA clinic. During this time, Elena also completed osteopathic manual medicine series at UNECOM in Biddeford, ME and began incorporating both osteopathy and acupuncture into her clinical practice. Elena has received training in hypnosis, mindfulness meditation, nutrition and other complementary and integrative approaches.

Elena was a faculty member (2008-2023) at Albany Family Medicine where she taught osteopathy and was the Director of Integrative Medicine. She created and implemented several community health initiatives including a produce prescription program for pregnant women and families and Mindful Meals, a program incorporating cooking classes, nutrition education and mindfulness for middle school kids at an after school community center. She currently works as a physician at Whitney Young Community Health Center in Troy, NY.

Elena pursues numerous innovative whole person health projects and is passionate about helping people achieve health and wellness.
